Chaos on the tracks

After many weks and countless hours of effort, my friend Igor has completed the conversion of the radio control system for the first diesel locomotive.

Very exciting, since it give the opportunity to again have two trains running. As dmonstrated here, in the undergarage;

What I really need are extra train drivers. Out granddaughter Everlee came to stay with her mum for a couple of weeks, so she was pressed into service.

Then her cousin Miles came to join in the fun one day. With two train drivers both under the age of five, and with only a tenative correlation between the instructions, stop, forwards and backwards, and the movement of the controllers, there was quite some scope for confusion:

And even with me in control, sometimes mishaps happened, such when a coach has been left on the main line (the subsequent investigation concluded a faulty coupling had detached as the passenger train went through the switching of the goods yard)
