Pottering about…

I decided that I should started ballasting:

But I have decided not to glue the ballast in place, since I don’t want problems when later the track needs to be lifted (worst case when the executors of my will need to dispose of it). I am hoping that it will stay in place anway. If not, then some repair work will be done. Fortunately Iave the ideal equipment to deliver more ballast to anywhere it is needed.

The ballast is chicken grit.

My father gave me these two figures- supposedly Lesley and our granddaughter Everlee. , waiting patiently for their train.

We can hear their conversation:

Everylee: Nana! Is this our train?

Nana: “I’m not sure. There are no timetables here!”

well….let’s see what happened:

Everlee: “Since the train didn’t stop I think we shoudl have taken the other one”

I thought I would finish with a video of the goods train waending its way through the indoor station. Note the lovely wiggle through the points, and the hopefully relistic sqeakgin adn rumbling, in addition to the puffing.

That was lovely to see Adam. I think the chicken grit makes great ballast and what a cool way to deliver it! Did Everlee get on the train without Nana? Thankd for sharing- most enterting! Love, Ruth🥰

  2. The goods train is like the ones that sometimes run through Langen, squeaking, rumbling and complaining all the way……😆 Cheers, Nigel.

  5. Hello Adam &Lesley, I have just read the latest Proof of the Pudding and it is truly wonderful that you are able now to get enjoyment from your model train. I’m sure it is a great joy to you and doubtless very good for your rehab too! Well done Adam?? I guess you are watching Artemis with great interest . Lucy, Kat and the girls were in Florida staying with Kat’s parents and actually witnessed the launch from a nearby beach. A wonderful memory for Ella and Evie. They are flying home tonight and they and Clare and family are coming to me for lunch on Easter Day which will be lovely. I send you my prayers of gratitude for your continuing recovery and for your love and support Lesley and every good wish for a peaceful and blessed Easter to you both and all the family. Love, Joey xx
