Peter came down at the weekend to help complete the baseboard structure.

Then we put some of the 12mm boards on to see what it looks like (not yet screwed down)

Note the table ready as a ‘workstation’. The boxes are full of old Railway Modeller magazines to give me advice and inspiration. On the right will be a small fridge and a kettle. Elsewhere underneath Peter and I are planning some shelving units to accommodate everything that is still in the tent (remember!)

If you notice in the previous picture, the end of the baseboard has a gaping hole. I realised that if I used a different supplier, with some clever cuts I could fill that gap, and also fill in the corner near the window.
I ordered the necessary material online, and went to collect it. I used their cutting service to cut the pieces to the correct lengths, brought them home, and they fitted perfectly. Except …. they had sold me 9mm thick panels, not 12mm. So back to the shop – fortunately they took the wrong panels back (even though they had been cut; after all, it was their mistake supplying me the wrong thickness in the first place). They dug out fhe correct thickness, and cut it again. I took it all back home, and everything was fine.

One more design session and the sizes of the final pieces will be known, and I can screw the baseboard panels into place.
