What a weekend!

Friday evening was the music concert.

The choir sang:

The concert band blew:

The wind ensemble blew some more:

There were duets from Singing in the Rain and the Sound of Music.

There were three movements from the Planets, by Gustav Holst, a rendition of Amazing Grace and music from Henry Mancini.

There was a barber shop quintet, and a choral piece composed, arranged and conducted by one of the students.

Then on Saturday, I went down to Nairobi to support the Under-17 and Under-19 in the rugby season finals.

Here is the U19 before their attempt to win the Prescott Cup – last won by RVA in 1994.

Despite putting strong pressure on their opponents in the second half, they lost 10-15.

And this morning we had a service where twelve students made a public affirmative of their faith through baptism.

So Culture, Sport and Faith all in one weekend. It is wonderful to be able to part of the students lives outside the classroom.

Finally, there is a link below to a new promotional video about the work of the school. Hope you enjoy it.

  2. Hi Adam, It’s Kris Angkasa from JPL.  I’ve been enjoying reading your “Proof of the Pudding” newsletter.  Just wanted to say, “Praise God for those baptisms”.  Hope that you and your wife are continuing to do well. God bless. Kris

I really liked this video: it reminds me a lot of my international school where I work, with the big exception that faith and belief in the Christian God is openly present! This is something I really miss in my workplace.

Thanks for keeping us all so well informed Adam: very much appreciated!
