It is the eve of Term 3. All the students are back on campus (apart from those whose flights were cancelled) and lessons start again tomorrow morning.
From 07.45 tomorrow morning (and for the rest of the term) in addition to my three Algebra 2 classes I will be teaching two Advanced Calculus classes, standing in for their normal teacher who is on home assignment at the moment. They have their major public exam in three weeks, and the maths they do is difficult! At least I have the answer keys for all the revision problems they have been set to do over the Easter holidays and in the run-up to the exam….
We had a great Easter holiday period, the highlight of which was Tim and Alice visiting us for a week. We showed them something of Nairobi, plenty of sights in and around Kijabe, and finished up with a two day trip to Amboseli, a game park south of Nairobi.

We saw lots of animals, including a herd of over 200 elephants!

Now we are girding our loins for the final term of our assignment at RVA. The third term is the shortest of the school year, and we are not complaining! We are both looking forward to being back in Europe, and being able to meet up with family and friends.
But before that we have 11 weeks of school, which will culminate in the graduation ceremony in early July. One thing we are particularly looking forward to is watching the school rugby teams in action. I am sure we will also have fun with the students, both in the classroom and when we interact with them in other activities. The first activity is coming up soon : next Friday evening we have ten 12-graders coming over for tortillas and games.
